This piece of art is attributed to Marc Chagall. Marc Chagall was born Moishe Shagal in the Vitebsk, Russia in 1887. Chagall changed his name to more French sounding name, when he moved to Paris in 1937 with his wife Bela and his daughter Ida and became a citizen. Chagall inspirations for his paintings came from Jewish lore, icons from his native Russia and lovers he painted all his life.
